Founded in 2014 by Alireza and Mohsen Yazdi, Anyon Systems Inc. is a Canadian technology startup with the mission of introducing Quantum Electronic Design Automation toolkits for design and optimization of nano/quantum electronics.
Electronic devices, from computer chips and cellular phones to satellite components, are made by the one-trillion-dollar electronics industry. The exponential growth in the advances of electronics, providing faster and cheaper computing and storage power, has been widely benchmarked according to the celebrated Moore's law. Moore's law predicts that the number of transistors in a dense integrated circuit doubles approximately every two years.
As the electronics industry is moving toward developing transistors smaller than 10 [nm], it has found itself facing a significant challenge: quantum physics. At such small scales, phenomena only predicted by quantum physics, such as electron tunneling, start to interfere with the operation of the device.
The sophistication of today's transistors owes much to a rich set of simulation softwares and Electronic Automation Design (EDA) tool chains. With the emergence of quantum revolution, there is a significant need for a set of software packages and simulation toolkits suitable for the design, simulation, and optimization of quantum electronics and quantum devices. Such toolkits can empower engineers to not only circumvent undesirable quantum effects, but more importantly to exploit quantum physics to develop revolutionary technologies. Anyon Systems Inc. main goal is to introduce such toolkits to the quantum electronics industry.
